Man shot after altercation outside liquor store on Detroit’s southwest side

DETROIT – A man in his 20s was wounded in a shooting following a physical altercation outside a liquor store on Detroit’s southwest side.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday (July 21) around 9:33 p.m. in the 2000 block of Springwells Street.

According to Detroit police, the victim was walking along the side of a store when he became involved in a physical altercation.

During the confrontation, a shot was fired, striking the man.

The victim was privately transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.

Police have not released information about a suspect or whether anyone has been taken into custody.

The investigation remains ongoing.
