Norway's public broadcasting network is dedicating five hours of air-time on Friday in an attempt to break the knitting world record.
TODAY says the Norwegian NRK network also aired a four-hour documentary on sheep shearing, followed by five hours of live knitting.
The current record of non-stop knitting held by Australia stands at 4 hours and 50 minutes, according to TODAY.
Millions tuned in to watch the view from a train making an eight-hour journey across the country, yet The Telegraph also reports that more switched on to watch a log fire burn in a new television format dubbed slow TV.
