Michiganders get oddly specific in ‘Daily Show’ election coverage (it’s hilarious)

Lakes are better than oceans!

Michael Kosta (L); Jordan Klepper (R) (The Daily Show; Comedy Central)

“The Daily Show” had two Michigan natives cover the state’s primary election in a way that only a news show on Comedy Central can.

Michael Kosta and Jordan Klepper did what we all do when we ask someone from Michigan where they’re from -- they showed each other using their hands. Klepper is from the “western palm” area and Kosta is “just a little southeast of the thumb.”

“You simple, stupid, thumb folk. I had no idea. Must have been wild cutting class to snort car grease in that abandoned Pontiac factory,” Klepper teased.

“Like you guys had it so good in the west, selling tulip bulbs so you could buy tickets to minor league West Michigan Whitecap games,” Kosta teased.

Despite being from opposite sides of the state, Kosta and Klepper found some common ground in the end.

“We need to build a wall on the Ohio border,” Klepper said. “Keep the Buckeyes out.”

They both hate the Buckeyes and think we should “retroactively make the Lions this year’s Super Bowl champions.”
