Dragon on the Lake Festival

Downtown Lake Orion

Legend has it that you can spot an 80-foot dragon in Lake Orion. The myth that inspired a celebration originated in the 1800s when two local boys pranked the town floating a homemade dragon in Lake Orion. The Orion Art Center presents the 16th Annual Dragon on the Lake Festival in downtown Lake Orion with dragon boat races, an art fair, contests, a little dragon den, the Dragon Pub, a tiki themed tent, live music and more!

Free Admission Day

Thursdays from 11 am - 8 pm

Cranbrook Art Museum

Did you know that the Cranbrook Art Museum is open late every Thursday with free admission? Now you do! Currently, the museum features a new exhibit along with two ongoing ones that you can explore during your visit. If visiting on a Thursday doesn’t fit your schedule, you can also come by from 11 AM to 5 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for an admission fee of $6 to $10.
