Zach Bryan takes over Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor for record-breaking concert

Bryan is first to headline concert at Big House

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Zach Bryan’s sold-out concert at the University of Michigan’s football stadium was poised to make history Saturday, with more than 112,000 ticket holders expected to set a new U.S. concert attendance record outside of music festivals.

The Grammy-winning artist became the first to ever headline a concert at Michigan Stadium, marking a historic milestone for the iconic venue.

Fans from across Michigan, neighboring states, and even Canada flooded Ann Arbor for what was just the second concert ever hosted at the stadium.

The first was a 1987 concert televised by WDIV-TV called “A Concert for Kids”, which was aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of substance abuse. The show was headed by Millie Schembechler, wife of legendary Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler.

“We’re Michigan fans, so we’re really excited and excited that it’s the first one ever,” said concertgoer Kayla Kigins.

The historic performance was a once in a lifetime chance for Michigan football fans to experience the stadium in a new way.

“I think it’ll be electric. I can’t wait,” said fan Tyler Zavala. “Mixing the Big House with Zach Bryan - two of my favorite things.”

Fans who were lucky enough to score tickets to the sold-out show could pick up merchandise memorializing the landmark event.

“It’s kind of crazy because I come here all the time for Michigan games and it’s already crazy here,” said fan Braylon Schultz.

The concert marks the final stop of Bryan’s ‘Quittin’ Time’ tour[J7K8L].

The previous U.S. concert attendance record outside of festivals was set by George Strait in June 2024, when he performed for 110,905 fans at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.

Michigan Stadium, which typically seats 109,000 for football games, was reconfigured with field seating to accommodate the record-breaking crowd.
