Michigan native joins Stone Temple Pilots as new vocalist

DETROIT – A Michigan native has joined the Stone Temple Pilots as a new vocalist.

Jeff Gutt, a former X-Factor finalist and graduate of Marine City High School in 1994, has joined the band as a new vocalist.

Gutt joins Stone Temple Pilots after the deaths of two former vocalists, Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington.

The group released a new song, "Meadow," marking their first single with new member Jeff Gutt.

“We wanted someone who would not only do our earlier songs justice, but would also write new songs and carve out a different path forward with us. It took some time, but we found our guy," said Dean DeLeo in a statement.
