Diwali celebrations held in Metro Detroit

Local 4's Priya Mann was in Plymouth at Hidden Falls Gurdwara (a Sikh Temple) for Diwali celebrations.

Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by Sikhs, Hindus and Jains around the world.

The festival honors the triumph of good over evil, symbolized by lighting diyas or candles.

Priya spoke with Metro Detroit high school students about what the festival means to them - 15-year-old Gurekmann Gill, 18-year-old Kiran Randhawa, 15-year-old Sharan Mangat and 16-year-old Sarav Noor Singh.

For those celebrating - Happy New Year!
