8th case of Legionnaires' disease this year reported in Genesee County

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. – This year's eighth case of Legionnaires’ disease in Genesee County has been reported through the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS) electronic database.

The case was reported by Hurley Hospital. The patient is a Genesee County man.

This most recent report of Legionnaires' disease in Genesee County was announced on Sept. 7. Genesee County's first case of Legionnaires' disease of 2016 was reported on July 6.

MDHHS also issued a Health Alert Network notification to advise the healthcare community in Genesee County of the ongoing need for vigilance and appropriate testing.
