Keep Your Pets Safe On Thanksgiving

Dr. Lara Silveri from our partner The Michigan Humane Society came in studio to talk about dangers for you pets around the holidays.

Thanksgiving can be a dangerous time because it's tempting to give the table scraps to our pets, but this isn't safe for them. Actually, it can cause problems such as pancreatitis and there is a higher likelihood that your pet could ingest a foreign object.

In case your pet eats table scraps, there are many signs of warning to look out for including: vomiting, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite.

Dr. Silveri says in order to protect your pets, you should ask your guest to be considerate, put your pet in a quiet room, and secure the garbage at night.
