Matt Damon, Helen Mirren, and Kristen Stewart star in stellar movies this weekend

From thrilling race car dramas, to fun animated holiday movies, the films coming out this weekend are sure to put a smile on your face. Greg Russell joined Jason Carr to chat more about this weekend’s movie releases.

Ford vs. Ferrari tells the true story of American car designer, Carroll Shelby, played by Matt Damon, and the outspoken courageous race car driver Ken Miles, played by Christian Bale. The two to come together to overcome obstacles in order to build a revolutionary vehicle for Ford Motor Company and race the prestigious cars of Enzo Ferrari. This fantastic film not only features amazing performances, but it’s also gaining award season buzz.

A new remake of Charlie’s Angles also hits theaters this weekend and stars big names like Kristen Stewart, Elizabeth Banks and Noami Scott. This movie follows a new generation of “angles” and their work for a private detective agency that leads them into a crazy adventure. Greg Russell gave this film three out of five reels.

The Good Liar stars Ian Mckellen as Roy, a con man who has set his sights on newly widowed Betty, played by Helen Mirren. However, Betty is not easily manipulated and Roy soon finds out he has finally met his match.

Klaus, is a Netflix original animated holiday movie about the origin story of Santa Klaus. It dives into the story of a postman who is stationed in the North. There he befriends Klaus the toy-maker, and adventure soon ensues. This fun family friendly film was given four out of five reels by Greg Russell.

Holiday in the Wild is another Netflix Original holiday film, starring Rob Lowe and Sex In The City’s Kristin Davis. This movie centers around recently divorced Kate (Davis), who embarks on a solo trip to Africa. It’s there where she meets an elephant conservationist (Lowe) and rediscovers her love for life. Greg Russell gave this film two out of five reels.
