Comerica Park still has traditional hot dogs and peanuts on the menu but this season it also offers creative twists to some Detroit traditions. Live in the D resident foodie Michelle Oliver checked out one of the big attractions of the new season: The new stadium eats.
Mark Szubeczak, Executive Chef of Comerica Park, joined the Live in the D crew to talk about the new stadium eats. He says they now offer polish pasties, apple pasties, Hatch chile mac and cheese with smoked brisket or smoked pork. To come up with these new food ideas, he says they have a nice team of people who keep trying recipes and coming up with new things.
Other food items include winter sausages, spicy chicken sandwiches, impossible burgers, a new deli sandwich, fresh salads, and street nachos.
According to Chef Mark, the new food items travel well and can fit inside your pockets and are easy to eat in your stadium seat.
Chef Mark says his favorite on the menu is Little Caesars Pizza.
