A Chinese national facing multiple charges in connection to one of the “largest human trafficking rings ever discovered in the state” is awaiting sentencing after agreeing to a plea deal on Tuesday.
Jingyu Jin, 46, and four others were arrested in December 2024 for their alleged involvement in the sex trafficking ring, which operated out of four illicit massage parlors in Metro Detroit: 111 Healing Studio in St. Clair Shores, AM Healing Studio in Sterling Heights, Magic Health Spa in Detroit, and 8 Star in Detroit.
“Through physical surveillance efforts our investigative team observed various members of this alleged criminal enterprise moving between parlors, airports, casinos and residences, and were able to piece together a clear picture of how this trafficking ring conducted its operations here in Michigan,” said Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel following the arrests.
Seven to nine women of Chinese and Korean origin are believed to be victims of the operation, Nessel said.
Initially charged with six felonies in the case, Jin pleaded no contest on Tuesday to conducting a criminal enterprise — a 20-year felony. The other five charges — conspiracy to commit conducting a criminal enterprise, accepting earnings from prostitution, transportation for the purposes of prostitution, money laundering, and keeping a house of prostitution — were dismissed.
Jin is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Jennifer Faunce in Macomb County’s 16th Judicial Circuit Court at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.
The others charged in the case are Huazi Piao, Jon Villasurda Sr., Oumar Lougue, and Ming Li, an undocumented immigrant, according to the AG’s Office.
