This time travel fan favorite is back after thirty years

NBC’s Quantum Leap returns for a new season

Quantum Leap was a five-season fan-favorite on NBC that aired its series finale nearly thirty years ago, and now it’s back. Taking place thirty years after Sam Beckett vanished forever, Quantum Leap returns for a new season on Sept. 19 at 10 p.m. on NBC.

Raymond Lee, who plays Ben Song, joined Jason Carr on “Live in the D” to discuss the upcoming premiere and new faces coming to the screen.

“Now, a new team has been assembled to uncover the mysteries behind the man and the machine and we’re going to be meeting that new team come Monday,” Lee said.

According to Lee, the mythology and major themes will remain the same while adding a 21st-century touch.

“I think what we created is a perfect mix of the old and the new,” Lee said. “There’s going to be a bunch of character connections, and a bunch of easter eggs for the original fans, meanwhile expanding on this world and universe that was created.”

Quantum Leap airs Mondays at 10pm on Local 4.
