Whether you’re sipping on it while chatting with friends or it’s warming you up on a cold day, tea has been around for centuries. However, fresh flavors and options are always popping up, including what’s being served at The Fern, a new tea shop in Royal Oak.
The Fern features a selection of vibrantly colored iced teas with more than twenty flavors. Theresa Mullen, the owner of The Fern, said she specially curated all of the flavors. Customers can also customize their tea flavors. All of the iced teas are made with organic green tea paired with sugar-free flavors. The shop’s loose leaf hot teas are organic as well.
Mullen’s tea menu is sugar-free, which is important to her because she wants people with diabetes, including her father, to be able to enjoy her drinks.
The Fern is located at 406 E. 4th Street in Royal Oak. Watch the video above to see “Live In The D” host Tati Amare mix up the Fern Mimosa, which Mullen says is the most popular drink on the tea shop’s menu.
