Cinco de Mayo is Wednesday, and you can celebrate by getting a fresh authentic Mexican feast for takeout. Carnival Market in Pontiac has the largest assortment of Latin groceries in Oakland County, and they are home to some of the best prepared Mexican dishes in town. Their supermarket is connected to a restaurant with the same name, and they offer delicious food like Carne Asada Fries, tacos and California-style burritos. The fresh seafood event that you can take out
Birmingham restaurant Hazel, Ravines, & Downtown (HRD) has become known for bringing unique seafood flavors to the D. They are living up to the reputation again this year with an all-new East Coast crab shack concept. They are featuring a whole new menu based on Blue Crab from Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. Blue crab is a small crab that you normally cannot enjoy fresh unless you live near the coast. Co-owner and Executive Chef Emmele Herrold says this crab has a mighty, delicious flavor that tastes unlike any crab you have enjoyed in the past. She joined Jason Carr live from her restaurant to show off Hazel’s new crab shack menu which you can take out and bring home for your entire family to eat.
This restaurant is spreading the joy of food in Detroit
This Takeout Tuesday knows how to make a spread of food you’ll love because it’s in the name. Jason Carr chatted with Radar Perkaj, the co-owner of Spread Detroit about their sandwiches and new business hours. Spread Detroit is a sandwich shop that has unique names for its tasty lunch items. You could try a “Nuna Tuna” sandwich, a “Big Al” or an “Old Kanye” that Perkaj joked is better than the new Kanye. Spread Detroit is also spreading into new business hours and menu items with their new brunch and after-dark menu.
Detroit’s newest bakery offers gourmet takeout meals
Promenade Artisan Foods has just opened their second location in Detroit inside the Fisher Building. Owners Chelsie and Jono Brymer joined Tati Amare from their Detroit location for Take Out Tuesday and talked about what their new location offers. Like the Trenton location, the new Promenade Artisan Foods in Detroit will offer, French Press coffee drinks, artisanal breads, crepes, sandwiches and gourmet grab and go meals. The Detroit location will feature the exact menu as the Trenton location, which changes every season. AdAlthough their menus will be the same, the Detroit location will differ because of its size.
This Takeout Tuesday can feed your whole neighborhood
Whisky Jack’s BBQ is a husband and wife team that loves to cook and bring lots of BBQ to the metro Detroit area in their food truck. The food truck has been open since 2015. The food truck is known for its baby back ribs, tasty chicken, and smoky pulled pork. You can usually find the Food Truck in Monroe on 1837 North Monroe St. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you want a food truck to come to your neighborhood, you can contact Whisky Jack’s BBQ and set up a date to feed the street.

Since October is National Pizza Month, and National Pasta Month, we are checking out a mom and pop restaurant that is serving up great pizzas and more for dine-in or curbside delivery. The Alibi restaurant in Troy is family-owned, and Cindy Maier, one of the owners, joined host Tati Amare to discuss what they have to offer. Pizza is their most popular menu item, and it is no wonder, with them hand-tossing the dough and making everything from scratch. Halloween is one of their biggest carry-out days of the year and Maier predicts they will send out over 1,000 pizzas. Take out this neighborhood favorite in celebration of National Chili Dog Day
National Chili Dog Day is Thursday and since Detroit is famous for its chili dogs, or Coney dogs as we call them, we thought we would showcase a neighborhood favorite: Lipuma’s Coney Island in Rochester. Tony Lipuma, owner of Lipuma’s, joined Tati Amare from his restaurant via Skype to talk about his restaurant, which has been in his family for generations. Tony says Lipuma’s has takeout meals for everyone. While they are best known for their Coney Dogs, or a chili hot dog with mustard and onions, Lipuma’s offer a slightly expanded menu that features things like Greek salads, tacos and homemade soups. Besides their menu, Tony says Lipuma’s stands out for other reasons: “This place has a vibe, a personality.”You can get a glimpse of that vibe in the video above, plus learn how you can enjoy a Lipuma meal at a nearby park location.

Mudgies Deli And Wine Shop is an award-winning restaurant in Detroits Corktown neighborhood. Right now, they have switched things up and are offering their full menu for takeout.
