He says performing in Detroit is the best

He’s best known for being part of the boy band New Edition, but Johnny Gill has had plenty of success as a solo singer. This Friday he’s bringing his show to Detroit and before he takes the stage, he took time to talk with “Live In The D” host Tati Amare about coming back to Detroit.

“Someone just asked me recently what are my favorite places to play and I told them Detroit,” said the Grammy-nominated singer. He says the crowds have always loved him here and he loves coming back.

When it comes to performing on stage, Gill says getting in shape for the dancing is no easy task. He’s been working out and re-learning all the steps. He says it has helped him lose 20 pounds since early February.
