Frita Batidos makes burgers and milkshakes

You can get a taste of the flavors of Cuban cuisine without leaving Detroit. The menu at Frita Batidos celebrates two popular Cuban street food dishes.

Fritas are traditionally Cuban style burgers made from Chorizo with shoe string fries on top on a soft egg bun, explained Eve Aronoff Fernandez of Frita Batidos. Diners can stick with the Chorizo or choose from chicken, fish, beef, or black bean fritas.

The second part of the restaurant’s name represents tropical milkshakes, which are known as batidos. The milkshakes include ingredients like coconut cream, fresh lime, hibiscus, and passion fruit.

Aside from burgers and milkshakes, Frita Batidos offers a variety of sides, including their crisped plantains. Cilantro-lime salsa or avocado spread is paired with the crisped plantains.

Frita Batidos has one location in Detroit and another in Ann Arbor. Watch the video above for additional information.
