Tati Amare – Winter is in full swing - though we aren’t experiencing the below freezing temps that gripped our area just a couple of weeks ago - and there’s a cozy escape waiting in the comfort of our own homes. The customary respite of binge-watching shows. The chill in the air is the perfect excuse to hibernate indoors with popcorn, a blanket, and an irresistible show or two.
Binge-watching in winter isn’t just a pastime for me - it’s almost a seasonal ritual during these long winter nights. The chill in the air makes me want to stay at home and get lost in a gripping show that spans multiple episodes or even seasons! From gripping dramas to silly comedies, the options are as diverse as our Michigan weather can be.

The ritual during winter also goes beyond just entertainment. It’s become a communal activity with family and friends sharing in the suspense of getting to the next episode. Just as long as someone in the group doesn’t start watching episodes on their own, which is just shy of criminal. Just don’t do it. Not to mention this time of year, everyone is a cinematic curator, sharing their top picks on what to watch during the gloomy days of winter. And I say, bring on the suggestions! I’ve got about four shows in the queue that will have my attention soon... how about you? Happy binge watching!

👓 Grab your girlfriends and get ready for a night that’s all about you. The season of love doesn’t only need to be shared among couples, which is why there’s a special event being held for Galentine’s Day. Fried Chicken and Caviar is known for being a premiere pop-up restaurant around town, and they joined us in studio to share what they have planned for all the gals out there.
In case you missed it
📺 What happens behind the scene? “Law & Order: Organized Crime” is part of the “Law & Order” world on NBC. This week, Tati had the chance to speak to actress Danielle Moné Truitt who plays Ayanna Bell on the show. Truitt talked about the seriousness of the plot lines they deal with, but it’s what she said about what happens when the cameras stop rolling that got her laughing.
🤩 What did they about the show? One of the hottest shows on Disney+ right now is “Percy Jackson and The Olympians.” In fact, it set a record for having the best Disney-branded television premiere ever. That’s no small feat, considering it is Disney. This week we caught up with the three stars of the show, including Metro Detroit native Leah Jefferies. Take a listen to why she says her character is very different from who she is in real life.

⛺ It may be the middle of winter, but let’s think about camping in the summer. Our sponsor the Michigan Association of RV’s & Campgrounds is hosting the annual Detroit RV & Camping show right now at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. You may think that this event is all about the RVs, but if you’re a camper, you can find all kinds of things here you didn’t know you need to make your camping experience all the better.
🎿 It may feel more like spring today, but it’s still winter in Michigan -- and you can find all the winter fun you want just by heading up north to Gaylord. Our sponsor TreeTops Resorts wants to welcome you for a special program they’re offering during the week. It’s called “Cool School,” and we got a sneak peek of everything that’s included, if you can take the time to head up Monday through Thursday.
Just for fun
😂 She has been cleaning up at award shows, and now she’s hosting SNL. Ayo Edebiri will be taking the stage for the first time and she’s ready for the gig! If the promo released for the show is proof, it’s going to be a funny one.
