Program helps shape the next generation of music artists in the D

Artists are participating in Amplify: The Sound of Detroit

Detroit is known for bringing extraordinary voices to life across a variety of music genres, and the Motown Museum is playing a special role in paving the way for a new generation of artists looking for their chance at the mic.

“Hitsville Next is Motown Museum’s creative and education hub for artists and entrepreneurs. So, we’re dedicated to finding and nurturing local Metro Detroit talent,” said Tristan Fisher, the artistic director for Hitsville Next. “Everything we do at Hitsville Next from competitions, programs, camps, workshops, and more, it’s all rooted in artist development and entrepreneurship,” he added.

One of the programs taking local talent to the next level is Amplify: The Sound of Detroit. It offers vocal coaching, performance coaching, media etiquette, styling, and more to participants. An Artist of the Year is selected during the Amplify Grand Finale event. “You can’t beat the Motown stamp,” said 2023 Artist of the Year Drey Skonie.

This year’s Amplify Grand Finale event will be held Saturday, March 16th at the Music Hall in Detroit. Watch the video above to learn more about the program and how to get tickets to the event.
