When it comes to your desk at work, making it your own is something everyone wants to do without making it look too much. Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan appeared on “Live in The D” to talk about stylizing your work area.
First, Jordan says he wants you to think about your space as “your calling card,” and make a first impression. “You have opportunities to really wow people or indicate your professional, that you’re creative, that you’re a hard worker,” he says.
He says there are many different ways you can make a statement. For Jordan, he is a big fan of books on your desk, which he says indicates he is “well-read.” Art is another statement that can be made, with even as little as framing a gift card or a greeting card.
“Organization is key,” he says to making your work space more productive. A messy desk may show the wrong message to your co-workers.
