Don’t let a slow movie theater weekend stop you from watching these new series

The Chucky legacy continues with season 3, part 2 of the series

While this weekend may be slower at the movie theater with no new movies out this weekend, there are some new series out that you can stream from your couch. Movie reviewer Greg Russell appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about them on this week’s Reel Talk.

Kirsten Dunst stars in “Civil War”, a war movie taking place in a fictional future of America. “Things we’ve been hearing about, are in this movie,” Russell said. He gives this a four out of five reels, “Because it is definitely going to get conversation going afterwards,” he said.

There is also a new limited series on Netflix starring Dakota Fanning in “Ripley”. This eight episode series is shot in black and white, where a sociopath, Ripley, wants to takeover someone else’s life.

The legacy of the killer puppet Chucky continues with Season 3, Part 2 of the series, where, “you’re laughing more than you’re being scared,” Russell said.
