When it comes to birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion, we all know picking the right greeting card can be a challenge. Finding the perfect combination of heartfelt authenticity, and charm that celebrates life’s moments, is easier said than done.
Now, there’s a local greeting card company that aims to make this task a little easier. Latoya Simpson, owner of “Candidly Speaking,” stopped by “Live in the D” to chat about how her unique card company is redefining the art of the greeting card.
“As a teenager I remember seeing cards and thinking, that doesn’t look like me,” Simpson said. She said that’s what got her going in the card industry. When you see her products you’ll see African American images, that are reflective of her and so many that are under represented in popular big name greeting cards. She said there’s a gift in words, and that’s what she wanted to give.
