Summertime is a time when we see a lot more kittens show up in shelters, and if you’re providing a new home for one of these loveable animals, there are some things you can do to make sure they grow into socially happy cats.
Ann-Marie Chamberlain with Michigan Humane stopped by “Live in the D” to share what you can do. “After you bring home a cat it’s a good idea to have them around a lot of people,” Chamberlain said. She said having the cat around a lot of different things helps them to not be nervous later in life. Things like hats, or canes can make a cat feel uneasy, so it would be beneficial to introduce those things early in the cats life.
