The clock is ticking for everyone who needs to make a decision about their Medicare coverage during the open enrollment period.
Debbie Stroup, the Medicare practice leader with Legacy Partners Insurance, appeared on “Live In The D” to share some advice. She stressed that Medicare open enrollment closes December 7th.
“Whatever plan you pick on that day at the stroke of midnight, that’s what you’re going to be with for whole next year,” Stroup said.
When it comes to meeting with an expert to help decide the best Medicare coverage, Stroup explained that you should gather information for all of your current doctors and specialists, your prescription information, pharmacy information, dentist’s information, and eye doctor’s information, along with any special health needs.
“It’s really important that all of those doctors and prescriptions and the pharmacy are in-network,” Stroup said.
Stroup also said that now is not the time to stay status quo with your coverage because of changes in Medicare.
