Pets are a special part of the family, and it can be a nerve-wracking process finding the right fit for a pet sitter.
AnnMarie Chamberlain with Michigan Humane appeared on “Live In The D” to share tips for picking a pet sitter.
AnnMarie suggests starting by asking your friends and family who they trust as pet sitters.
When you find a potential sitter, AnnMarie stresses the importance of doing a meet and greet.
“It’s about asking a lot of questions, too,” she said.
She said it can be really beneficial to go on a walk with a potential pet sitter and your dog.
“See how they handle the dog. See how they react if the dog doesn’t do the right thing, and that’s really just trying to get some evidence on how they treat the animal,” she said.
Michigan Humane has multiple pets up for adoption, including an adorable dog named Petey Puddle, who is described as being a “goofball.”
