Michigan’s Startup Competition to Give $4 Million Dollars

20 finalists are moving forward in ‘PitchMI’

Michigan’s startup scene is heating up with the top 20 finalists moving forward in a competition called ‘PitchMI’. The statewide competition is giving out $4 million dollars to homegrown innovators - and nearly half of the finalists are from Metro Detroit.

Pete Martin from the MSU Research Foundation appeared on “Live in the D” to talk about the competition and highlight some Metro Detroit contenders.

“Electric Outdoors” and “JustAir” are two of the finalists from the area.

“The energy here is unbelievable and you can see that in the quality of companies that are coming out of Detroit,” Martin said.

From healthcare to clean energy to AI - these companies are doing some pretty cool stuff right here in our state.
