Making tasty sushi is already a perfected form at the Blind Owl Restaurant in Royal Oak, but now you can learn how to roll up some of your own and enjoy.
“Blind Owl is a place for everyone,” said Tony Vitale of Blind Owl Restaurant. “We have everything on the menu from tacos, fajitas, burgers, Monte Cristos, and even sushi.”
The restaurant believes in bringing people together, which is why the menu spans continents to ensure all customers feel at home.
On Feb. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m., the restaurant will offer a hands-on sushi-rolling class for friends, family, and couples.
“When you go out to get sushi generally, you’re not knowing what to do,” said chef Ivan Dalou. “I figured that if we came out and really showed people what they’re looking for and how to approach it, it’d be a great way to train the people around us so we can start getting a better, more rounded clientele.”
As for what guests can expect when they come in for the event, Blind Owl has ensured it’s an experience you don’t want to miss.
Once you walk in, the ambiance will be set, and you’ll be able to order drinks and receive an appetizer. Chef will begin with a meditation that puts everyone in the right frame of mind, and then everyone will roll together and enjoy learning the process together. Guests will get to eat their newly rolled sushi and also enjoy a dessert to end the night.
