C.J. Barrymore’s is adding a new roller coaster to its lineup, and the vice president says the park couldn’t be more ready to open it.
“We’re super excited it’s here,” said David Dalpizzol, vice president of C.J. Barrymore’s. The coaster was originally slated to debut April 1, but construction delays pushed the timeline back. “We’re looking at July 3rd for the opening,” Dalpizzol said, adding that crews are finishing final inspections and putting the roof on the station.
The new ride is designed with the whole family in mind - a deliberate departure from the park’s previous coaster. The key difference: no loop. Dalpizzol said the park made the change after studying rider data. “The ridership really goes up once you took the upside-down portion of the coaster out,” he said. He explained that the park “subtracted the loop” from the original design, noting that families who didn’t want the upside-down experience had been steering clear.
The height requirement is 40 inches minimum when riding with a parent, and 48 inches for single riders, Dalpizzol said.
He called the coaster a highlight of the park’s summer offerings. “We’re super excited to get it open and get it going,” he said.
C.J. Barrymore’s, located along M-59 in Clinton Township, also features go-kart tracks including the Skytrak - which opened in 2024 - along with the Grand Prix and Turbo tracks. More information is available at CJBarrymores.com.
