Royal Oak, MI. – Are you ready to go wild and have fun with your family and friends at the Detroit Zoo? Wild Summer Nights are happening at the zoo this summer.
Marissa Ratzenberger, the Assistant Manager of Public Events at the Detroit Zoo, stopped by Live in the D to chat about what visitors can experience at the event.
“Wild Summer Nights is our annual summer event where we feature extended hours during the summer so guests can enjoy a different look at the zoo as well as a concert from local artists from 6 to 7:30,″ Ratzenberger said.
“It features local artists, and we have a lot of fan favorites coming up to finish off the season, we have our pop night and Motown night and classic rock, and we also have a rescheduled kids’ night that features princesses on Monday, August 24th,” Ratzenberger explained.
The entire zoo, including the new Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails, will be open until 8 p.m. on select Wednesdays this summer for Wild Summer Nights.
In addition to the fun, there’s also a philanthropic component.
“Wild Summer Nights is included with zoo admission, and every single admission ticket goes directly to support the care that we provide for the animals who live at the zoo, our conservation efforts, as well as our educational programming that makes meaningful connections,” Ratzenberger said.
