2 Detroit firefighters injured battling house fire on Minock Street

DETROIT – An arson investigation is underway after two Detroit Firefighters were injured battling a house fire Wednesday morning on the city's west side.

The fire started shortly after 4 a.m. in the 8500 block of Minock Street, which is near Joy Road and Evergreen Road.

The injuries are non-life-threatening.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities say a flammable liquid was set on fire and burned for sometime before emergency crews were called.

No other injuries were reported.
