I-96 back open following deadly pedestrian accident


DETROIT – The westbound lanes of I-96 at I-75 have reopened, after a body was found on the freeway early Friday morning.

A man started walking towards the Warren Ave. exit after his vehicle became disabled around 3 a.m.

He was hit by a woman driving a postal truck, police said.

The woman is shaken up and speaking with investigators.

The man was rushed to Henry Ford Hospital were he was pronounced dead.

The man's car has some damage, it's unclear if he was in a car accident.

We do have an identification of the man, but will not release it until his family is notified.
