David Edwards pleads guilty to taking $13K bride from Wayne County contractor
DETROIT – Another high-ranking Wayne County government official has pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges.
Former Wayne County technology IT division director David Edward pleaded guilty to accepting a $13,000 bribe from a county contractor.
Edwards resigned from his county post this past month. He was indicted this past week and entered his plea Monday morning.
The U.S. Attorney's Office is recommending he serve a year to 18 months in prison in exchange for his testimony against others in the case.
Edwards will be sentenced in August.
