Convicted Michigan murderer ordered to wear tether, won't have bond revoked

Michigan Attorney General wants 31-year-old man convicted of murder behind bars

DETROIT – Police in Michigan are on a statewide search for a convicted murderer who has been ordered to wear a tether despite the Attorney General's request for revoking his bond.

Dwayne Ballinger, 31, was found guilty of killing two men in 2006. He was sentenced to life in prison.

He was released on bond Monday pending an appeal of that sentence. On Thursday, the Michigan Attorney General called Ballinger a danger to the community and is asking the Appeals Court to revoke Ballinger's bond and put him back behind bars.

A judge ruled Thursday that Ballinger will have to wear a tether. He must report Friday morning to get his GPS tether. The judge would not revoke bond.
