Mother loses son in deadly shooting on Detroit's west side

18-year-old and 25-year-old were shot and killed

DETROIT – An argument left two men dead and one woman injured on Detroit's west side late Thursday night.

According to police, a 34-year-old woman got into an argument with her 25-year-old boyfriend in a home located in the 13000 block of Meyers.

That's when the boyfriend pulled out a gun and started firing shots. One bullet struck the woman in the leg.

Moments later, the woman's 18-year-old son pulled out a gun and started firing at the boyfriend. They exchanged gunfire and eventually shot and killed each other.

Neighbors say the home was filled with children, including the boyfriend's son.

"The 16-year-old son jumped the fence and came to my house," said witness Kellie Hayes. "He said that the mother's baby's dad had shot up everybody in the house."

The woman was taken to Sinai Grace Hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
