Police said 72-year-old Thelma Truesdale told them she woke up to find a man in her home and was then shot in the arm and leg.
Police followed a trail of footprints in the snow from the Truesdale's house to a nearby vacant house and found Lyons hiding in a furnace box in the basement.
The woman is expected to be OK.
