Monica Conyers finishes prison sentence for bribery conviction on Thursday

Detroit – Former Detroit City Council member Monica Conyers completes her federal prison sentence Thursday.

Conyers, the wife of Democratic Congressman John Conyers, had been serving a 37-month sentence for bribery.

In January, federal authorities let her move from prison back to Detroit. Since then, Conyers has been working at an auto body shop in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood. 

Conyers pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery in 2009 and entered prison the next year.
