Royal Oak Township woman jailed on accusations she opened fire on daughter

Oakland County deputies say 72-year-old, 20-year-old were arguing when mom pulled handgun

ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. –  A 72-year-old Royal Oak Township woman is jailed after authorities said she opened fire on her daughter during an argument Tuesday night.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the woman and her 20-year-old daughter were arguing in a home in the 2100 block of Reimanville Avenue when the mother pulled out a .38 caliber handgun. The first shot misfired but the second went off, missing the daughter and getting stuck in a wall.

The mother was arrested and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
