DETROIT – Another former Wayne County government official has been sentenced to time in federal prison.

David Edwards used to head the county's information technology department. He was convicted of taking $13,000 in bribes from a contractor.

On Friday, Edwards was sentenced to one year and one day in prison.

His former assistant, Zayd Allebban, recently was sentenced to 41 months in prison as part of a federal probe into alleged Wayne County corruption.
