The money donated by Kohl's will support Kohl's Injury Prevention Program (KIPP) at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan. KIPP provides education on injury prevention and safety tools to decrease unintentional child deaths and injuries. The program also offers products such as smoke alarms, car seats and bike helmets to children and their families.

"We are grateful for the continued support of Kohl's and the Kohl's Injury Prevention Program," said Tony Werner, president and CEO for Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation. "Kohl's is a valuable partner, and their commitment to safety is essential to keeping children of all ages protected and injury free."

Kohl's will present the donation at 5 p.m. to Werner and Joseph L. Lelli, M.D., chief of pediatric surgery at the DMC hospital.

Kohl's has donated more than $5 million to benefit patients and families at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan.

"Kohl's has been a dedicated supporter of children's health in Michigan since 2000," Lelli said. "We are very fortunate to have such a great partner. Along with the donations to the Foundation, which allow us to continue injury prevention programs, Kohl's Associates also volunteer on a regular basis to make many of our community outreach events a success."

The event is sponsored by Kohl's, 96.3 FM, Garden Fresh Salsa, Little Caesars Pizza Store #1, BIGGBY Coffee Store #272, Joe Cornell Entertainment and Perry's Tents and Events.
