Evrod Cassimy - Local 4 News Today anchor

Evrod Cassimy joined WDIV in August of 2013 as the anchor of Local 4 News Today. He was born in Michigan and is proud to return home to his Midwest roots.

Originally from the Chicago area, Evrod graduated from Columbia College Chicago. He began his TV news career in Grand Junction, Colorado and has covered news in Madison, WI, Orlando, FL, Richmond, VA, and Denver, CO before joining the Local 4 News team.

Evrod is an award winning journalist and three-time Emmy Award nominee. In 2010 he received the Virginia Associated Press Award for "Best Breaking News Coverage."

Throughout his career in TV news, Evrod has covered a variety of major news stories. He covered the Casey Anthony case in Orlando, FL, interviewed Michael Moore during his meeting with Occupy Denver protestors and anchored coverage of the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado the day it happened. He’s even interviewed a number of dignitaries such as Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, former President George W. Evrod loves mornings and is excited to be part of Local 4 News Today team. On the personal side, he enjoys working out, trying new restaurants and a good cup of coffee (especially in the morning!). When Evrod is not exploring his new home of Detroit and its suburbs, he loves watching TV at home, listening to music, or keeping up with social media. Evrod is married with a young child.
