Boater's body recovered from Lake St. Clair

Harrison Township man had been missing since not returning Monday

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities say they've found the body of a boater who was missing in Lake St. Clair near the mouth of the Clinton River.

The U.S. Coast Guard and the Macomb County sheriff's department were involved in the search for Craig Richard Aquino, a 47-year-old Harrison Township man, starting Monday evening. The sheriff's department says he had gone fishing with his dog.

The sheriff's department says Aquino's body was found Tuesday morning.

Crews had responded after being notified of an overturned 12-foot aluminum fishing boat, which was found along with a dead Boston terrier floating nearby. A witness told authorities a man was heard yelling from the water about 20 miles northeast of Detroit.

In addition to the boat, authorities reported finding fishing gear in the water off of Harrison Township.
