PONTIAC, Mich. – A mother of 7 has been shot and killed at a home in Pontiac.
Police said 32-year-old Kenyetta Barnes was arguing Tuesday night with her 21-year-old boyfriend in an upstairs bedroom of a home on Shirley Street when he pulled out a handgun and shot her multiple times in the chest. Barnes fell into her bedroom closet.
Barnes' 2-year-old daughter, Ahmiya, was standing next to her mother when the gunfire erupted and was hit in the leg. The girl is in stable condition at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Three other children in the home were not hurt.

Barnes' boyfriend, of Waterford Township, was taken into custody pending charges. He could be charged as soon as Thursday.
Police said he is not the father of any of Barnes' children and doesn't have a criminal history.
