Forecast: Rainy, cool Thursday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – High clouds will get lower and thicker throughout the overnight, eventually leading to rain by sunrise.

But until then, we'll have comfortable conditions, low humidity, and temperatures in the 70s before midnight.

Thursday forecast:

Tomorrow we'll start wet and finish dry. Rain will be around most of the morning and part of the afternoon. Even though we're not expecting any severe storms, there will be spots that pick up 1 inch of rain before the end of the day. Temperatures won't make it out of the 60s for much of SE Michigan, but will likely touch 70 officially at Metro Airport.

Friday forecast:

Then we'll dry out again Friday, but temperatures won't make it above average. In fact highs will remain in the 70s through the middle of next week!

Weekend forecast:

The weekend looks mainly dry. There will be rain just east of us, so east side locations could see showers on Sunday. Better chances of rain move in for the next work week.
