FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 3-year-old boy was killed when he accidentally shot himself in Franklin Township Sunday according to Michigan State Police.
Jonathan Kaufman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accidental shooting happened around 1:30 p.m.
The child was alone inside the home and found a loaded .40 caliber handgun stored in a closet. His father and older brother were outside.
The incident is under investigation by the Michigan State Police.
