SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A father was shot and killed by his son in Shelby Township, according to a Local 4 source.
Police said they responded at approximately 4:23 p.m. to a report of a possible domestic dispute at a residence in the 48000 block of Sandifer Court on Thursday (July 9).

Upon arrival, officers said they found an adult man who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
Officials said the son was taken into custody, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Local 4 source identified the suspect as the victim’s son.
Police have not released the identities of the people involved or additional details about what led up to the shooting.
The case will be submitted to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Police said additional information will be released after formal charges are authorized and the suspect is arraigned.
The investigation remains ongoing.
