Man accused of taking up-skirt photos of 13-year-old girl at Walmart in Sterling Heights

Robert Sikorski charged with capturing, distributing images of unclothed person

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Police say 58-year-old Robert Sikorski pulled out his camera phone at a Walmart on M-59 near Mound Road in Sterling Heights to take photos of a teen girl.

"The individual was in an aisle next to a 13-year-old girl. He put his phone on the ground next to the girl who was wearing a skirt," said Lt. Dave Smith.

Smith said the girl's mother saw exactly what Sikorski was up to.

"She was upset, of course, like any mother would be, and confronted him. Initially the individual denied it and attempted to delete some of the photos," said Smith.

The mother called police. Walmart security stepped in until officers arrived. Investigators were able to recover the deleted photos.

Sikorski was arrested and charged with capturing and distributing images of an unclothed person.

This happened back in June but investigators are putting the case out there now because they believe there could be more victims.

"Anybody who has any contact with this individual, we request that they contact the (Sterling Heights Police Department) if they think they might have been a victim or they think their child may have been victim so we can continue to investigate and hold them accountable for any other incidents," said Smith.
