Campaign official for Rand Paul claims campaign manager for Marco Rubio punched him on Mackinac Island
DETROIT – The political director for Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul's presidential campaign posted Friday that he was punched in the face by the campaign manager for competitor Sen. Marco Rubio at a bar on Mackinac Island.
According to John Yob's posts on his Facebook and Twitter page, Rich Beeson assaulted him -- and he has video to prove it.
"The state police are looking for him. I have it on video, from multiple angles," Yob wrote. "I am hereby calling on Marco Rubio to fire Rich Beeson effective immediately."
Yob is Rand's national political director and chief strategist in Michigan. He was on the northern Michigan island for the three-day Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference.
In addition to Paul, other GOP candidates campaigning during the conference are Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Michigan's presidential primary election is six months away.
