The statewide average weekly gas price has increased about 7 cents from the previous week, AAA Michigan reports.
This follows four consecutive weeks of statewide average weekly gas price decreases. Michigan's current statewide average is about $2.34 per gallon, about 7 cents more than last week's average and about $1.03 less than this same time last year.

Of the cities surveyed by AAA for self-serve unleaded fuel, the lowest average price can be found in the Marquette area, where it's about $2.24 per gallon. The highest average price can be found in the Ann Arbor area, where it's about $2.37 a gallon.

Barring any major disruptions in supply, pump prices are expected to remain under downward pressure and should continue to move lower as we enter the fall and winter months.
