Boy finds $770 in Livonia parking lot, turns it in to police

LIVONIA, Mich. – An 8-year-old boy was honored at a City Council meeting Wednesday evening after he found $770 in a Livonia parking lot and turned it into police.

Anthony Wright was shopping with his mother Saturday when we saw money blowing around on the ground of a PetSmart store parking lot on Middlebelt Road.

He collected the money and waited in the area with his mother to see if someone had lost it. After no one appeared, he turned it in to the Livonia Police Department for safekeeping.

The cash had accidentally been dropped by two sisters who were at the council meeting to thank him for his good deed

“I want to be a leader,” Wright said.
