DTE: 3,000 customers remain without power after high winds

Customers impacted by sustained high winds

DETROIT – The high winds rolling across metro Detroit left 20,000 DTE customers without power Saturday afternoon, according to DTE Energy.

DTE says it will be working throughout the weekend to restore the power. They also ask the public to stay away from down power lines.

UPDATE: The utility company reported Sunday that power has been restored to all but about 3,000 customers. 

Virtually all customers impacted by the storm will be restored by the end of the day Sunday, DTE said.

A total of 123,500 customers were impacted by sustained high winds which caused extensive damage to the electrical system, according to DTE.
